August 21 & 22

Lyn went with Selina and Sian to watch the Rugby,
South Africa vs New Zealand, at Soccer City.

This was the first time rugby was played here so they used the opportunity to break a few records:
Most number of people at a rugby match = over 90 000

Most waving flags at a sporting event = about 64 000

Most Elvis impersonators at a sporting event = very weird!

Even though the Bokke lost everybody loved the atmosphere and the Vodacom Player 23 campaign arranged a special 360" photo to be taken of the crowds which you could later find and tag yourself in.

Then on Sunday it was the Outing of the Month with Catherine and friends. This time they went to the
Monte Casino Bird Gardens.

There is a huge avery that you can walk through to see the birds, with waterfalls and ponds and a sky walk to see the birds that are high in the trees.

You can buy little containers of nectar, which the birds love, and while holding it in your hands they will come to eat it.
There is a huge variety of birds from common to rare and in every colour imaginable.

They also have different types of little animals such as monkey, lemur and tamarin.

After exploring all the birds, they watched the live bird show and finished off their day by having lunch at the resturant over-looking the flamingo lake.
