On tuesday evening the family gathered at a Chinese Restaurant in Bruma to get together before Gavin starts his new job in Cape Town.

South Africa is in the grip of a really nasty cold front that has seen 7 of the 9 provinces experiencing snowfall.
In some areas whole towns have been cut off and many of the major highways are closed. ( The N3 between Villiers to Howick has been closed completely as the snow had caused trucks to get stuck in the thick snow up Van Reenen's Pass )

My Birthday Weekend
For my birthday we invited the family around for lunch on the 3rd.
We had a delicious veggie and meat casserole and apple strudel for dessert.
Maryann, Leslie, Dennis, Bryan, Yvonne, Cynthia and Lyn.
Aunty Yvonne gave me these beautiful roses. They are a soft yellow
but as buds they have a soft green tinge
Kitsie just likes to "sit and smell the flowers"
On my birthday, I got totally spoilt
I got a Kodak Easyshare M575 digital camera from Mommy, Lyn and Alan.
It has an awesome feature of taking a photo, uploading it to Facebook and - thanks to facial recognition software - will tag the people in the photo with the click of a button - very cool!!!!
Thank you all for making my birthday so special.
Father's Day
For Father's Day the family met up at Harvard Cafe for breakfast.

Easter 2011
For our Easter celebrations we gathered at the Quail house for afternoon tea.

There were many kinds of delicious goodies - carrot cake, sandwiches, sausage rolls, chicken pieces and granadila cake
The easter bunny left each of us a big stash of yummy goodies.
Melissa's 4th Birthday Party
April 2nd was Melissa's 4th birthday and we went to her Barbie themed party

On Saturday 26th March we went to the Quail House for a goodbye party braai for
Debbie and Hermann as they prepare to start their new adventure in Australia.
